25.10.2024 ( Friday )
The future of the ocean and our food systems is the theme of Out of the Blue’s third day.
In the morning, join a visit to CIIMAR (Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research, located at the Cruise Terminal), where you will discover how the sea provides new possibilities for sustainable food. We continue exploring this topic with a talk at Matosinhos Market, focusing on the fascinating world of seaweed and other marine plants, highlighting their nutritional potential and culinary applications. This will be followed by a vegetarian-themed lunch at Fava Tonka, showcasing the flavour and versatility of seaweed.
In the afternoon, a visit to Leça da Palmeira will invite you to learn more about the transformation processes coastal cities are undergoing. Returning to the Market, the afternoon continues with a conversation on the current environmental, social, and tourism challenges facing cities. The day ends with another immersive dive into the Under the Blue + Batô Lounge experience at Matosinhos Municipal Market.
