24.10.2024 ( Thursday )

The second day will be dedicated to exploring Matosinhos’ deep connection with fish and canned goods, which are symbols of the city’s identity. The morning begins with a visit to the Matosinhos Fish Auction, followed by a discussion on fish-based diets.
In the afternoon, there will be a visit to the Pinhais Canning Factory, followed by a city tour that highlights the relationship between marine biology and Matosinhos’ architecture. The afternoon concludes with discussions on gastronomic traditions and their connection to seafood products, as well as the role of women in local food systems. At the sunset, the Under the Blue + Batô Lounge immersive experience invites us to dive into the depths of the ocean, all while staying within the Market.
